Proverbs 6:30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; 31 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.
These verses seem to say that stealing is not a sin but that is not what it means. If someone steals because they are hungry we should have sympathy for them if they will repay what they have stolen 7 times over. We know to God sin is sin no matter what but some sins carry worse punishment than others. As in this case the thief can get forgiveness by repaying his debt but we will see in the next few verses some sins are harder to overcome.
