Proverbs 6:27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
28 Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?
29 So he that goeth in to his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.
These first two verse set up scenarios to help us see that there are things we cannot do without suffering consequences. Verse 29 goes on to make reference to the act of adultery and the later part of the verse refers to just the act of touching another person spouse with intent to commit adultery. These scriptures may reference one particular sin but the reference in the first two could be applied to any sin, it impossible to a sin and not have to face the consequences that come along with the sin.
