1 Corinthians 7:21 Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather. 22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant. 23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
In these next few verses we see that even if we are a servant we are to use it for God just as if we were free. This is not saying that slavery should be approved of but that we can still serve the Lord even if we are. We should not take our freedom lightly, we are free in the Lord but we still have to obey him. There is no better freedom than that of the Lord, just as there is no worse bondage than that sin, from which Christ sets us free. Last we see that we are bought with a price , which is the blood of Jesus, but we are not a slave to any man. Being servants of men is where sin starts in so many ways in the worldly things that happen and where the flesh takes over and enslaves men. Lord help us to reach people that enslave by the world today so they can be free in You.
