Galatians 3:15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
These scriptures speak of a covenant made by a man which if it is confirmed then it is a valid covenant. This like a binding agreement it cannot be voided or changed. Like the covenant between God and Abraham is still in effect today. All of the promises made by God are covenants He has made with us and they will not go away or change. one point Paul makes is that in some Old Testament passages seed refers to the greatest of Abraham’s descendants, Jesus Christ. This leaves no doubt at all, that the promises that were made to Abraham belong to all believers in Christ. We need not try to explain this Scripture, just know that it is true, and accept it. We should see beyond a shadow of doubt that these promises made to Abraham were for all who believe in Christ.
