2 John 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
In these verses John helps to remind us to hold on to the things we learned through our life about the word of God and how to live the life of a Christian. We are not saved by our works but by faith and the things we do for Christ, because we love Him, is what earns us our rewards. It is God’s desire for us to receive our full reward. It goes on tell us if fall away from the doctrine of Christ and abide not in the ways we have been taught God is not with us. But if we stay true to all we learned about the doctrines of Christ we will have God and Jesus walking with everyday.
