1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
John carries love a little bit further here by telling us that we are not to love by just speaking or giving lip service to someone, but to love with our actions and in truth. When we talk about helping someone it accomplishes nothing. We must put those words into action and help in any way we can. Because we love people with our actions and be truthful in doing what we do we demonstrate proof of our salvation. We know we will have no regrets, if when we stand before God, we have acted out the faith that we say we have. Our heart will not condemn us, if we know we have done the best we can by everyone.
