Proverbs 31:20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
These five verses show some admirable characteristics of a good wife. First she is charitable in giving to those in need. She again makes sure her household is taken care of in all kinds of weather. She also likes to make sure her appearance is acceptable to all she comes in contact with. Her husband has great respect for her because she has made significant contributions to his position in the community. Again we she she is very industrious in selling her goods to the merchants. All of these characteristics are driven by a desire of hers to make make sure her family is provided for.
