Proverbs 18:22-24

Proverbs 18:22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
23 The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.
24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

We see here a few different kind s of people. First we know that God said in his word that it is not good for man to alone. So He provided a female companion and we see here that it is good for a man to have a wife. God ask them to multiply and replenish the earth and in obedience to God they find favor with Him. Next we see a poor man who is humble in what he ask for but the rich man, because he feels superior, answers him roughly. The rich usually do not need anything from anyone so they do not care how they treat people. This last verse tells us that to many times we feel we must entertain people to keep them as friends. Which we know God ask us to love everyone the same, as Jesus loved, and in doing this we should receive love in return. Then we have a friend who will be there for us in the worst of times and this is a real friend. We gain from these scriptures that is good forman and woman to join marriage and have a family, even though it may not be for everyone, for some may choose to live a celibate life. That we should have a kind humble attitude to all people, rich or poor, and be a true friend to the anyone who needs us.
