Revelation 16 : 10-11

Revelation 16:10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

Now the fifth angel comes and pour out his vial of darkness on the seat of the beast, the seat being the whole world because he is in charge of it. This darkness brings a bit relief to the people who have faced the previous vials but it also makes them realize the pain they are in caused by these plagues. The pain is so great it cause them to gnaw their tongues. They also continue to blaspheme God because they know these plagues come from Him because the beast can do nothing to stop them. They could ask God for mercy but they do not because their hearts have been hardened. They continue on sinning as they have even though they are in such pain and have been through so much. Does this not sound like people today? But today they still have a good chance of finding Jesus with the help of the Holy spirit, so why wait?

Tough Times Never Last

There’s an old saying – “tough times never last; tough people do.”

And then there’s the country song that says,

“If you’re goin’ through hell, keep on going;
Don’t slow down, if you’re scared don’t show it.
You might get out before the devil even knows you’re there.”

That song isn’t exactly scripturally correct but it does encourage me to remember that when I’m in the valley of the shadow of death, I don’t have to stay there. I do have the ability to keep going.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” Psalm 23

I think the Lord might be trying to tell me something…. I wrote about this scripture a few days ago; my pastor read it to us a few days after that, and  when I Googled ‘scriptures for tough times”, that was the first one to pop up.

I don’t know about you, but I’m going through tough times. I just told a very dear friend this morning that we’ve got two choices- either we can decide that all the struggles we’re going through are more trouble than it’s worth; or we can just keep fighting and trusting God, knowing that nothing happens outside His permission. I am too old and mean and set it my ways to quit now.

Manna or Quail?

When the Israelites were wandering in the desert, God fed them manna every day. In fact, they were told to gather enough manna every day for that day’s use. Anything more than what they needed would mold during the night. And why would they need to keep it? They got it fresh every day!

The only variation on that was the Sabbath – since they weren’t to do any work on the Sabbath, they could gather enough for two days on the day before- and because it was a heavenly gift, on those days it did NOT mold.

But the Israelites weren’t satisfied…. they decided they couldn’t eat another bite of manna. They needed quail – they complained and griped to Moses about it. They mumbled behind their doors, they grumbled as they talked to neighbors.

So Moses went to God and told Him the Israelites wanted quail. And that’s just what God provided.

Soon there were quail everywhere; hovering just above ground level, so the Israelites could easily gather them up and eat. And eat they did. The Bible says they ate ’til it was coming out their noses.  Just ponder on that mental image for a minute…

And now consider this: manna was provided from Heaven so it was perfect food. It met all their dietary needs; it tasted good; it was easy to gather and as long as they followed the rules, it didn’t spoil. They got new manna every day, fresh.

But the Israelites chose to have something earthly- fleshly, if you will. They wanted quail and lots of it. And they got it.

Are we making the same mistake? Are we asking for fleshly things instead of the things of God? If we are, do we really want the same outcome the Israelites got?

Because the Israelites really should have thought about what happened to the Egyptians. They worked against God, and the gods they worshipped ended up filling their mouths too. Don’t believe me? Check the story in the Bible – fleas, flies, gnats, frogs- all so plentiful around them it was in their beds, in their food – and in their mouths.

We better be careful what we’re chasing after.

Revelation 16:8-9

Revelation 16: 8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

The fourth angel pours out the next vial on the sun and causes enormous heat to scorch men with fire. But this intense heat not only scorched man but also crops and remember they have been without a lot of water for a while from the last vials. Do you think this changed mans heart, no, they now cursed and blasphemed God. Does this remind you of Pharaoh when his heart was hardened. This plague also caused much pain, like a sunburn but probably about 10 times worse. We need to remember also that God’s people that are still on the earth are protected from all this .

Revelation 16:3-7

Revelation 16:3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.
4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.
6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.

As the vials continue to flow the second one is poured out on the sea and it turns to blood. Remember earlier only part of the sea was turned to blood but now the entire oceans are blood and everything in them dies. Imagine the stench that is create by all the dead sea life, also the disease that could easily be create by it . The next vial comes right along with this one and turns all the rivers and springs to blood leaving it almost to have water to drink which is a necessity to life itself. Because all those through the ages have shed the blood of the saints they now have nothing but blood to drink. No doubt there is going to be a lot of death caused by theses two vials but the angels praise God and call Him righteous because this is the judgement God and promised His people. It is today God’s will that all be saved and none be lost but that is for today and not the second half of the tribulation because these people have made their choice. And Gods judgments are true and righteous.

Revelation 16:1-2

Revelation 16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

Now God begins to have the angels pour out the last of the judgments. The angels may be reluctant to bring this destruction but because the are obedient to God they do not hesitate. The first vial brought noisome and grievous sores upon all those that worshiped the Antichrist or had his mark. This means that the saints or followers of Christ will not be harmed by this plague, they will be protected as God has promised. Now you may say I can stay true to God if I miss the rapture but you do not need to take that chance because it will way harder than you can imagine simply because the the Holy Spirit will not have the same roll in the tribulation that He has now of convicting us when we do wrong. Also these plagues do not begin til the last half of the tribulation, right after you have been commanded to take the mark of the beast or die.

Revelation 15:5-8

Revelations 15:5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:
6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.
7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.
8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

Now as things continue on to begin the last three and one half years we see the tabernacle open up and seven angels walk out. These angles have the last seven plagues that are given to them by God himself for judgement on the people who have worshiped Satan and tortured His people. A lot of people think God can not cause bad things to happen, but look at Sodom and Gomorrah, and He is doing this to purge the earth once and from all of sin and so He is releasing theses last seven plagues. Because God has issued so much power to release these plagues, it caused the tabernacle to be filled with smoke and now no one can enter the tabernacle until these plagues are released. You see the chaos in our world today and know that it is Satan already trying to set up his kingdom for the tribulation period to bring as many of God’s children with him as possible, and you will find every reason in your book not to be in church today. Time is short you need to be getting your life in order with God.

Revelation 15:1-4

Revelation 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

Now we begin to God getting ready release the finale seven judgments on the unbelievers of the world, this will be the full wrath of God greater than that of when He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. We also see her all the saints that were martyred in the tribulation praising God singing the song of Moses because he brought the children out of Egypt and they know that God is fixing to answer their prayers fulfill the judgement on Satan and his followers. We also know that the beginning wisdom is to fear the Lord and that at the end of time every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Why wait to give God the glory He deserves now?

Revelation 14:17-20

Revelation 14:17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.
19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

As we saw in the previous scripture Christ had the sickle in His hands but now another angel shows up and the angle has the sickle. The difference being Christ was harvesting His people and now God is going to harvest those who chose not to believe. In this harvest it is very ripe for the picking and this is probably real close to the end of the tribulation even the battle of Armageddon. The intensity of God’s judgement her is stronger than has ever been. So many are killed in this battle that the blood that is spilled covers an area 184 miles long and is 4 to 5 feet deep, this distance is the length of Palestine and it quite possibly is flowing down the Jordan Valley. This shows that no how much someone believes the lies of Satan God’s justice prevails. I ask people again today if you are not in a God fearing church that teaches the TRUE word of God please find one and let Jesus take over your life before it is too late.

Revelation 14:14-16

Revelation 14:14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

The person sitting on this cloud is Jesus with a crown on his head showing is ruler of this world. The sickle He holds in his hand is to reap the Christians from the earth before the tribulation. This is the first judgement of God when he calls His children home. At the second coming of Christ when He steps foot on the the earth will be the next judgement when all that worship the beast will be judged. Again it is going to be awesome to go when that trumpet blows and not have to face the tribulation.
