8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10 And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
 
As chapter 10 concludes we see the angel that is standing on the sea and the earth once again with the little book, God’s word. The voice tells John to take the book and the angel gives it to him and tells him to eat it. It says it will be as sweet as honey in the mouth but bitter in the belly. This is symbolic of reading the word of God and the message of salvation be the good part, the eating of the word, and the destruction that has to come at the end for God to regain His creation. The angel also tell John now he has to prophesy again which we will now go back to the beginning of the tribulation talking about the personages of the first 3and1/2 years which will then bring us to the final judgements of God.

Thoughts on Fathers Day

We had a guest preacher in church this morning. Bro. Terry Hester talked to us about what men should do; they need to quit acting like women, they need to quit acting like monsters and they need to quit acting like children – they need to act like MEN.

That got me to thinking about what a good man really is; what a good husband really is. The Bible shows us exactly what standards we should expect of our menfolk.

  • Jesus was willing to die for the ones He loved – men should be ready to protect their families and exchange their lives for the ones they love.
  • Jesus was a good leader- He didn’t ask any of His followers to do anything He wasn’t willing to do Himself – He didn’t force anyone to follow Him, He just loved folks and showed them the right way; they chose to follow Him because they knew they could trust Him no matter what; good men are good leaders to their families, their co-workers and their communities (I’m not saying women can’t be good leaders too; this is simply about good men do and how they act).
  • Jesus always forgave those around Him- He never threw someone’s past in their face to remind them how bad they had been; He looked at today and beyond. Good men will also move past the past and look forward to encourage the ones following them to be better tomorrow than they were yesterday.
  • Jesus loved His family (all of us) unconditionally- good men will also love their wives, children and other family members, regardless of how they act, how they dress, how they speak, how they look or any other choice they make.

Revelation 9:16-21

Revelation 9:16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
17 And thus I saw the horses in t…he vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.
18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

As the woe continues we find that the number of the army is 200 million and this is not a regular army but a demonic army under the rule of the four angles. You know they are not a regular army because they had the head of lion and they killed with what came from their mouth. Fire , smoke, and brimstone is what helped killed the ones here but also their tales did torment them. It is believed that even some died from the site of these beast . After every thing that has happened to this point man still refuses to repent of their idolatrous worship, murders, sorceries, fornication, or thefts. Even though people can see today that these same things are keeping people from God and from repentance they still will not make a decision to do anything about it which is bringing us ever closer to the day this all begins to happen.

Revelation 9:13-15

Revelation 9:13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
14 Saying to the sixth angel which… had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.

Now the second WOE as the sixth angle sounded. The horns mean power and the golden alter is where God is. This trumpet was to release the four angles from the four corners of the earth which means it will be world wide with its destruction. They were prepared for 1year 1 month 1 day and 1 hour to slay another third of the people who have not accepted Christ. It is estimated that 1 and 1/2 billion people will die in this woe.

Revelation 9:7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.
8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.
11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.

In verses 7 through 11 John gives a description of the demons that appear as locusts they are as big as horses, crowns to show they rule, faces like men to show their intelligence. The long hair had a seducing effect to draw men near, the teeth like a lion to help inflict pain. Their breastplates made them indestructible and the sound of their wings was like the sound of a mighty army coming. And if this is not enough to terrify man they also could sting them like a scorpion and all of this torture was to last for five months causing man to want to die. Again they had a leader through all of this and to put it simply it was Satan. This is only the first WOE and there are two more to come.

Revelation 9:1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

As the 5th angel sounds the star that falls from Heaven is Satan and he is given the key to the bottomless pit to release his demons. A great smoke arose out of the pit as if from a great furnace. Now if people do not believe there is a hell they are basically choosing to spend eternity in hell with Satan instead of in Heaven with Christ. The demons that came out of the pit were as locusts, but very large, and they were commanded not to eat any greenery of any kind and could only torment man for 5 months and not kill him. The people to be tormented were only those that were still followers of Satan or the antichrist, any with the mark of God was to be spared the torment, which included the 144000 and the people that have been saved in the tribulation. Some say these three WOE’s are an attempt to get the remaining unbelievers to turn to God. Also here in verse 6 we see that the people being tormented want to die but can not . As we get deeper in to this it gets hard to get all I would like to say in a few lines so again if anyone has any questions or comments if I can I will do my best to answer any questions.

Revelation 8:12-13

Revelation 8:12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as …the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

We get to the fourth angel and light is decreased and darkness is increased. As God created light He can also take it away. As these four angels have sounded we have one third of most everything destroyed, even human life and animal life and all of this that has happened seems terrible. But there are three more angels to sound and the scripture describes as WOE, WOE , WOE to the unbelievers still alive on the earth, it seems things have been bad but it is nothing compared to what is about to happen.

Revelation 8:10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, …and upon the fountains of waters;
11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

Now the third trumpet is thought to be another meteor or an enormous nuclear explosion falling on the fresh water supply turning it poisonous causing a plague to strike and kill all who drink the water. It is believed to be a nuclear explosion because of the one at the Chernobyl nuclear plant in Russia. The word Chernobyl means Wormwood and that is what the water turns to. Remember there is still time for people to be save but because of the destruction taking place people are turning from God instead of to Him.

Revelation 8:8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood…;
9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

It is really a challenge to keep all the things that have happened because of the beginning reign of the antichrist and the destruction happening now due to God bringing judgment on the earth and the unbelievers. With the wars and the famines that have already happened and the first trumpet destroyed the vegetation that produces oxygen and one third of the grass and food supply now the second trumpet sounds like an asteroid has fallen into the seas or an enormous volcano has erupted and turned one third of the sea to blood killing one third the sea life and destroying one third of ships. But it is still not no near as bad as it is going to get. Again if you do not want to face any of this find you a church today that preaches the true word of God and give your life to him.
