Proverbs 28:15

Proverbs:15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.

This scripture speaks of a roaring lion that will waste no time in devouring a helpless victim, a raging bear that is hungry that will stop at nothing to devour whatever he sees. So is a wicked ruler over his people who could care less who gets in his way. Sounds to me like this talking about Satan himself seeking how he may steal a life away, kill the hopes of good people, and destroy everything good in someones life. We need to seek God everyday to be able to withstand what Satan can throw at us and know that God has all we need and He will fight our battles for us.

Proverbs 28 : 13 -14

Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
14 Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

These verses tell us that those who try to hide their sins will never be forgiven for them and this can lead to these people hardening their hearts and going even deeper into sin. These people go so far down that none can reach them kinda like the Pharaoh of Egypt. The other side of this the one who is willing to confess his sins and develops a healthy fear of God will be blessed by God. This fear of God is actually reverence to God and thankfulness for the salvation He has provided for us. We all need to attend church as often as we can so we will not be tempted to turn our hearts from God. So today please attend a church that teaches the true word of God so you can learn what he has for you.

Proverbs 28:11-12

Proverbs 28:11 The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
12 When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.

These two verse show us four different kinds of people. First we see the rich man who thinks he can buy his way to heaven. He could be a church goer but does not believe he needs anything else, he thinks too highly of himself. While the poor man has learn how to humble himself and get understanding and find his Way To God. Next we see the righteous in victorious rejoicing because of doing well at a task, everyone wants to help celebrate this. But when wicked rise up all they want is more power and it causes the righteous to run and hide because no one is safe when the evil rule is one of terror. From this scripture we can learn that we need to humble ourselves before God ans to stand firm against the evil of the forces of Satan.

Proverbs 28:10

Proverbs 28:10 Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.

This is a good verse that every christian should keep in mind. When people try to lead you astray they can cause you to fall, no matter strong you think you are, and you will fall into the same pit they do. But you have a way out of that pit because you have a Father you can call on to forgive you and bring you back to where you need to be.The evil person who caused this to happen though will remain in the bed he has made for himself. We have to be careful every day to remember who we belong to and who we need to keep company with. Satan will use anybody and every body he can to cause you fall, but we have a God that is bigger than anything Satan can throw at us.

Proverbs 28:9

Proverbs 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

This verse tells us simply that if we do not follow the law of God, He will not here our prayers. God wants us to be obedient in all things and He does not want to here our prayers if we will not quit sinning. In Isaiah 1:15 it says “And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.” Then Isaiah 1:16 tells us what to do “Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;” If we want God to here our prayers we need to listen to what this scripture says.

Proverbs 28:7

Proverbs 28:7 Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.

We see the difference in how children are raised in this verse. The wise parents that raise their children up in righteousness, have children that will respect the law of man as well as the laws of God. They also will respect authority. On the other hand parents who have children that wind up living a riotous life will not only be ashamed of their children but also of themselves for not raising them in the right manor.Lets try to raise our children the right way and if we see people we know having trouble with their children try to get them to see they need Jesus and if they are not in church invite them to come see how things can change.

Proverbs 28:6

Proverbs 28:6 Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

This verse helps us to see that to be poor in worldly goods but rich in the things of God is a good thing. The scripture tells us to lay up treasures in Heaven where rust doth not decay the the riches. We acquire these riches by doing good works for the Lord. Those who have acquired their riches in this world by their evil dealings have no rewards in heaven, if they did they did someone else would enjoy them because they would not be their but in hell with Satan. All things in this world is temporary and their is no lasting value connected with earthly wealth. We should gain from this that it is better to be poor and righteous than to be rich and wicked. In Psalms 37 it tells that the righteous of God have never been forsaken nor has His seed begging for bread.

Back to School: a Note from Hope

Kids in a school bus

Dad says it’s almost time for all the kids to go back to school.  I like watching the school bus drive by in the mornings and afternoons – sometimes if Scout and I are out walking Mom when they ride by, the kids wave and yell at us from the windows.

Mom says that when the kids were little, they liked riding the bus. They got to be the last ones off in afternoons, so they got to help let all the windows up.

Dad says you can learn lots of things in school: how to be a hard worker; how to treat other people; how to play fair; and he says you can even learn stuff like math and spelling and reading if you try.

I don’t think I’d like to go to school with all those kids- that’s an awful lot of noise. But I’m glad Mom and Dad teach Scout and I things. We know how to sit down, sit up, lie down, high five and shake. Scout also knows how to load up in the truck- I’d rather not ride, so I don’t do that.

Mom says it’s good for our brains to learn stuff- that the more things we learn, the better dog (or person) we are.

I hope you’re learning new stuff too! Just remember to be careful and watch for kids getting on the bus!

Proverbs 28:1-5

Proverbs 28:1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. 2 For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged. 3 A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food. 4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them. 5 Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

This chapter starts off and shows us eight classes of people. First we see the wicked who always run from trouble and sin because they know they are guilty. While the righteous know how to stand up to danger because they know that “greater is He that is within me than he that is in the world” Next we see that unrighteousness produces political instability, while wisdom promotes order and long rule. Next we see where you would think the poor would have compassion on the poor but they are greed y which probably led to their condition to begin with. It says it is like a sweeping rain that could destroy almost anything, sweep seeds in the fields away, carry flocks away, or even wash a home away. The next verse sate simply that you can be on one side or the other. One side loves God and keeps His commandments, the other side loves the world and the wickedness it brings. Last we see what most of the world is made of. Evil men have chosen to follow Satan instead of
God and will not listen to reason so they will never understand. Those who seek the Lord will receive understanding and wisdom from the Spirit of God. I know this is a long post but it could help someone decide what type person they want to be.

Proverbs 27:23-27

23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds. 24 For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation? 25 The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered. 26 The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field. 27 And thou shalt have goats’ milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.

These five verses start off telling us that when we have a job to do we should do it to the best of our ability as if we were doing it for God Himself. It goes on to tell us that everything thing we make does not last forever so we need to prepare in a way that we have what we need year round, you might call this budgeting. It goes on and shows how biblical times people used the fields to feed the animals, the sheep to supply clothing and the goats to supply milk and they would also sell some goats along to help pay bills. Also goats were used for food and there was always enough for the servants to. I can remember growing up and families help each other out by trading out services that they could do. This scripture kinda reminds of this and it would be nice today things like this still took place, where people traded out their services. Go to church today and let God lead you in the direction He wants you to go, have your heart and mind open for Him to speak to you.
