Proverbs 29:2

Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

This verse has a message that could apply to any country in the world today. If a ruler is a righteous person the welfare of the people are better served than by the wicked ruler. A righteous person will rule justly and there will be no prejudice or bribing. He will rule with truth and be fair to everyone and all will be cared for. On the other hand the wicked ruler will make the order of the day to see how much more he can gain. Every decision they make will be for their own gain and with a selfish motive with no regard for others. This verse lets us know why it is so important for good righteous people to seek positions in our government and for people to have the understanding and wisdom to elect these people.

Proverbs 29:1

Proverbs 29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

This person is one who has an unteachable spirit. They are in a state of increasing abstinence of learning anything of the righteousness of God. They have been corrected over and over and each time it just makes them a little determined not to do right. They have become stiff-necked and hard hearted. Their destruction will come quickly without a chance to change anything they want to. They are doomed because they never attempted to change before they were destroyed. We see people like this every day and just about all we can do is pray for they, witness to them if they will listen, and hope they have a change of heart.

Proverbs 28:25-28

Proverbs 28:25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.

We see in these four verses 8 classes of people. One group, the proud, the fool, the miser, and the wicked all will fail at what they try to accomplish. The proud stirs up trouble, the fool believes only he is right, the miser never helps anyone but himself, and we know the wicked cause fear in people. The other group, the humble, the wise, the liberal, and the righteous, these God will bless. The humble have complete trust in God, the wise know how to make the right choices, the liberal is not only blessed but knows how to bless those in need, and the righteous in the end receive the greatest reward and increase in strength. As Christians we should strive to exhibit these last four characteristics everyday in our life and be in constant pray for those we know who exhibit those first four characteristics.

Proverbs 28:24

Proverbs 28:24 Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.

Here we see a lesson that should be taught in a family at an early age. That is that we support family and work together and not steal and then deny it. We see too many times in family where one or two of the siblings think they have to control all the families stuff. They usually wind up taking most everything and does not think it is wrong. People like this are destroyers and not builders. We need to strive to always work together not only in our blood family but also in our church family so we can grow in our relationships with each other and with God. Please attend a Bible believing church today and see what God has for you, it may be just what you are looking for.

Proverbs 28:23

Proverbs 28:23 He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.

This verse has a good lesson. A lot times we will see people telling those that have slipped and and maybe backslide a little that everything will be alright and not ot worry will cause more harm than good. We need to be ready to use spiritual rebuke when we see a fellow believer slipping get back to God. They may not like it at the time but when they realize that you helped them to regain their righteousness they will thank you. I heard today that as teenagers graduate and start out in the world they are leaving the church in larger numbers. They were raised in church and now are drifting away, this is a very important group that we need to help stay on the right track. They will be our church of tomorrow.

Proverbs 28:21-22

Proverbs 28:21 To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.
22 He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.

This first verse is talking about how people will take a bribe to help someone out of situation they should be receiving punishment for.We probably see more of this in our court systems and in politics . God expects us to treat people fairly and if someone has done something wrong they need to suffer the consequences. Just like in the next verse we see where someone believes in getting rich by any means and it does not matter who he hurts in the process. He needs to understand that he will wind in poverty because God cannot bless someone like this and he will eventually loose everything These last seven verse have shown. us several different kinds of people, we need to take from this that there are a lot people out there that are in need of Jesus and fewer out there to share the Gospel. The ones of us that can need to be reaching as many as we can that we see need help.

It’s My Birthday! A Note from Hope

Mom says this week is my birthday…. I am TWO years old. We don’t know exactly when it is, so Mom just picked the 8th- that sounds good to me!

Mom posted some of my pictures on Facebook the other day- she says she’s so glad I’m a part of the family, and I am too! Mom says I’m a blessing to her; I’m not sure exactly why she says that, except that sometimes she looks at pictures of another dog she used to have, and she cries. Maybe it’s because I’m a happy dog and I make her happy.

I’m glad I’m here!

Blessed are the pure in heart, because they will see God. Matthew 5:8

Proverbs 28:19-20

Proverbs 28:19 He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.
20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

These two verses help us to see that one if we work hard and have the faith God gave us we will always have what we need plus the blessings of God. Remember the prodigal son how he ask for his inheritance and went and wasted it because of following after the things of the world. Also we see so many who try to get rich quick and more times than not it causes them to wind up brook instead of rich. Those who waste what they have and the ones who try to get it the wrong way, God does not like. God wants us to work for what we have and be faithful in how we use it and take care if it.

Proverbs 28:18

Proverbs 28:18 Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

This verse lets us know that if we will walk in the ways of the Lord and live according to His word we will spend eternity in Heaven with Him. On the other hand for those that are so perverse in their sin that it causes them to be out tune with God, it will not only cause them to spend eternity in hell but to also experience a great deal of punishment here on this earth. In one instance they would not tune form their perversion and God said turn them over to a reprobate mind. Romans 1:28 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;” Titus 1:16 “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny [him], being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” It is awesome we have a God that loves us and cares for us if we obey Him and in obeying we should do what we can to reach these people that are perverse, and they are many, and try to help them see the light of Jesus.

Proverbs 28:16-17

Proverbs 28;16 The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.
17 A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.

This first verse tells us that a ruler who does not understand the needs of his people will be an evil oppressor of the people. His rule is usually short lived. The ruler who understands the needs of his people knows there is a God who is over him and will do all he can to help his people. His people will want to keep him for a long time.
The next verse is basically talking about a murderer and warns that this person should face his punishment for what he did. We are not to comfort or help him because he must pay for this sin. He will find no rest till he sees death and the grave receives him.
We see two people here who are evil, the first capable of doing the sins of the second and then a totally opposite person in the prince that understands there is a God and rules accordingly. We need to have more people like the good prince today in our government to get our country back where it needs to be.
