Many people stumble at the Word because they don\u2019t believe the promises of God. (I Pet.2:6-8) Because they don\u2019t believe, they never enter the rest that God intended for His people.\u00a0 (Heb. 3:18, Matt. 11:28)\u00a0 Rest or the Sabbath is described as ceasing from your own works and ways, and receiving what God has already provided for us by His covenant.\u00a0 God\u2019s promises include long life, health, prosperity, soundness of mind and much, much more.<\/p>\n
One amazing promise of God is found in Psalms 5:12.\u00a0 It says that God \u201csurrounds us with a spirit of favor like a shield.\u201d\u00a0 Supernatural favor will be our protection.\u00a0 Favor is described as a good pleasure, good will, grace or graciousness and acceptance.\u00a0 From a God and mankind relationship, it is the propensity for a superior to receive an inferior, and to show them kindness and to put His blessing on them.<\/p>\n
So great is this blessing, it causes others to acknowledge it and to cooperate with it.\u00a0 God can even make your enemies to participate in blessing you.\u00a0 Favor is not so much about you or your goodness.\u00a0 It is the disposition or nature of God to favor His people.<\/p>\n
When God delivered the children of Israel from Egypt, He placed favor upon them so heavily; that even after experiencing 10 plagues; the Egyptians gave them articles of clothing, silver, gold and jewelry.\u00a0 That\u2019s favor, child of God!\u00a0 God\u2019s favor was on Joseph so heavily; no circumstances could keep him from the promotions that God intended for him.\u00a0 Eventually he would become the de facto prime minister of Egypt.\u00a0 Even Jesus in His earthly ministry, \u201c\u2026increased in wisdom and statue, and in favor with God and with man.\u201d (Luke 2:52)<\/p>\n
What is the purpose of what I\u2019m saying?\u00a0 It is to convey to you that favor is real.\u00a0 It is a promise of God to the children.\u00a0 II Peter 1:4 says there are \u201c\u2026given unto us exceeding great and precious promises\u2026\u201d \u00a0When we receive them we are raised up to the Godly nature and stature that our Father intended for us.\u00a0 So study the Word and receive the promises from a God who loves us.\u00a0 Spend time knowing Him and becoming acquainted with His goodness.\u00a0 That includes His promise of supernatural favor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
